Types of Study Visa in UK

Students must obtain a visa of the appropriate type before entering the UK, depending on the purpose of their visit.

General Visitor

This category is intended for short trips for tourism, short-term English language courses for up to 6 weeks for applicants over 18 years of age, and allows you to stay in the UK for a maximum of 6 months.

Student Visitor

This category is intended for short-term trips for English language courses for applicants over the age of 18. You can stay in the UK for a maximum of 6 months.

Child Visitor

This category is intended for short-term trips for tourism, short-term English language courses for applicants under 18 years of age. It is also issued for a maximum of 6 months.

List of documents:

  • valid international passport;
  • a previous foreign passport or a copy of it;
  • 1 colour photo;
  • letter of acceptance for short-term courses;
  • certificate from an educational institution;
  • certificate of employment;
  • certificate from the bank about the account status;
  • copies of certificates of movable/immovable property;
  • copies of marriage and childbirth certificates;
  • notarized consent to travel for minors.

To successfully obtain a study visa in UK, all documents must be accompanied by a full translation into English.

Tier 4 (General)

This category is intended for students over the age of 18, less often over the age of 16, who are going to study academic programs, issued for one academic year or the entire period of study, depending on the decision of the visa officer. All applicants over the age of 18 must complete a Skype interview at the Visa Application Centre.

Tier 4 (Child)

This category is intended for students under the age of 18 who are going to study at school or college, issued for one academic year or the entire period of study. Applicants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

  • valid international passport;
  • a previous foreign passport or a copy of it;
  • 1 colour photo;
  • electronic confirmation of acceptance for studies;
  • certificate from the bank about the account status;
  • original birth certificate;
  • results of the TB test.
